【Special Requirements for Course Selection】 1.Research Training must be taken every semester, but only four credits will count toward graduation. However, students who graduate early or participate in an educational internship during the semester may be exempt. If a student needs to travel abroad for research for one month or more, they may be exempt from taking Research Training that semester with the approval of their advisor and the director.
2.Group Discussion is a required course for first-year master’s and doctoral students in their first and second semesters. Seminar is a required course for second-year master’s and doctoral students in their first and second semesters. However, with the approval of the director, students may take Group Discussion or Seminar earlier or later than scheduled.
3.Doctoral students must complete and pass " Online English for Postgraduates (Ⅲ) " or a higher-level " Online English for Postgraduates " course to be eligible for graduation. Students who meet the criteria for exemption from advanced English courses at NTU's undergraduate level or have obtained a bachelor's or master's degree from an English-speaking country may submit relevant proof and a written application for exemption, subject to institute approval.
4.Master's students Direct-Entry Doctoral Degree Programs must complete the required master’s courses: Research Training, Seminar, and Group Discussion (credits counted based on their master's enrollment period). In the Ph.D. program, they must complete 12 required credits. After deducting the required master’s and Ph.D. credits, the remaining credits will be electives. The total minimum credits required for graduation is 30 credits.
