First Semester

Second Semester

First Year of the Doctoral Program

1. Select a thesis advisor and join their laboratory.

2. Take required and elective courses.

Second Year of the Doctoral Program

1.  Submit the "Advisor Consent Form"

within two months of the start of the

semester. Doctoral students must select

a thesis advisor before applying for the

qualifying examination.

2. Submit the qualifying examination application by January 31 before the end of the semester.

1. Pass the qualifying examination by

July 31 before the end of the semester.

2. Complete and pass required courses.

Third Year of the Doctoral Program

1.Doctoral students of the Institute who have passed the qualifying examination should have their thesis advisor form a dissertation advisory committee starting from the following academic year. (At least one meeting must be convened each year no later than May 31, during which every Ph.D. student in the Institute is required to present a progress report on their dissertation.)

After the Fourth Year of the Doctoral Program

1. Doctoral students in their fourth year or above must participate in the "Graduate

Thesis Progress Report" and give a presentation on their thesis progress.

2. Doctoral students of the Institute must complete the "Graduate Online English

(III)" course or a higher-level "Graduate Online English" course to be eligible for

 graduation.

3. Doctoral students of the Institute who have passed the qualifying examination and

completed the required courses and credits will be designated as doctoral degree

candidates by the Institute, with a notation made on their transcript by the Office of

Academic Affairs.

4. Upon completing at least 18 credits of required coursework and passing the

qualifying examination, students may apply for the doctoral degree examination.
